Attorneys from Heygood, Orr & Pearson have filed a class-action lawsuit in Ellis County on behalf of Texas investors who say Waco-based Life Partners Inc. charged excessive premiums on the company’s so-called “life settlement” policies.

Attorneys from Heygood, Orr & Pearson recently obtained a ruling from a Los Angeles Superior Court ordering executives from Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. to testify under oath and produce key documents as part of a lawsuit over the death of a 37-year-old woman who died while using the company’s fentanyl patch.
